Bhubaneswar: The two-phase Orientation Workshop for newly appointed Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) of Government Higher Secondary Schools and Government Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools, organised by the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education under the School and Mass Education Department, concluded.
The workshop was held at IMAGE, Siripur, in two phases and witnessed the participation of around 240 newly recruited PGT teachers. The valedictory session was attended by Additional Director Binita Senapati, Joint Director Sasmita Mali, and Deputy Director C.H. Vijayalakshmi, among others.
Addressing the participants, Additional Director Binita Senapati advised the teachers to adopt a solution-oriented approach while discharging their responsibilities. Joint Director Sasmita Mali expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the two-phase orientation programme and conveyed her best wishes to the teachers for their professional journey. Deputy Director C.H. Vijayalakshmi coordinated the valedictory session.
The orientation programme was conducted in two phases. The first phase was held from July 20 to July 24, while the second phase was conducted from July 27 to July 31, 2026. Around 120 PGT teachers of Economics and Sanskrit participated in the first phase. Another 120 teachers from Political Science, Economics and Sanskrit attended the second phase.
The workshop was designed to familiarise newly appointed teachers with the academic, administrative and professional responsibilities of Higher Secondary education, enabling them to contribute effectively to quality education in the State.
