
New Dalhi: Demonstrating a strong commitment to teacher development and digital education reform, the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha, under the stewardship of Sri Raghuram R. Iyer, Director, Department of School and Mass Education, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), organized a comprehensive five-day Training Programme on e-Content Development under PM e-Vidya from 26th to 30th May 2025 at NCERT, New Delhi. A total of 40 Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) from Higher Secondary Schools across the state of Odisha participated in this capacity-building initiative.
This joint initiative, aligned with the PM e-Vidya mission and the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aimed to enhance the digital competencies of teachers and promote the integration of technology in classroom teaching. The programme was designed to empower educators to create high-quality e-content, thereby expanding access to effective leaming resources for students across Odisha.
Participating teachers represented a diverse range of subjects-Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Education, English, History, Logic, Mathematics, Odia, Physics, Political Science, Sociology, and Zoology and came from reputed institutions including BJB Higher Secondary School, Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School, Fakir Mohan Higher Secondary School, and Sushilavati Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School, Phulbani, among others. The training sessions, led by experts from CIET and other digital education professionals, focused on practical skill-building in areas such as script writing for digital content, multimedia lesson creation, interactive resource design, and effective use of e-learning platforms.
This capacity-building effort underscores the Department’s and CIET’s shared vision for future-ready education, ensuring that students benefit from engaging, accessible, and curriculum-aligned digital content. The participating teachers expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity, describing the programme as insightful, transformative, and timely, inspiring them to contribute actively to the digital transformation of education in Odisha.
