BhubaneswarL The 7th ‘Project Governing Committee’ meeting of the JICA-assisted Rengali Irrigation Project (Phase II) was held in the departmental conference hall, presided over by Smt. Shubha Sarma, Principal Secretary of the Department of Water Resources.
The meeting focused on the capacity building of Pani Panchayats to ensure efficient water management across the 39,416-hectare project area. Discussions also covered the documentation of best practices adopted for successful project execution and the assessment of its socio-economic impact. Also focused on resolving land acquisition issues affecting project implementation, and ensuring the completion of ongoing construction work within the stipulated timeline.
The meeting was attended by the department’s Engineer-in-Chief, Sagar Mohanty, JICA Chief Engineer, Bigyan Prasad Sahoo, and other senior officials.
