Bhubaneswar: A key review meeting of the Water Resources Department was held in the departmental conference hall under the chairpersonship of the Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department, Shubha Sharma. During the meeting, emphasis was laid on the progress of departmental works in accordance with the 15-point guidelines issued by the Chief Minister. The roadmap for achieving the targets set for 12 months and 24 months under Vision 2036 and Vision 2047 was also reviewed.
The meeting deliberated on issues such as regular budget outcome review, implementation of MoUs signed by the Government for industrial development, the Mission Karmayogi–based training calendar, and the system of periodic reviews. During the review, the Principal Secretary stressed the need to ensure optimal utilization of funds for enhancing irrigation potential in the State. Emphasis was also laid on issuing all official correspondence and communications in the Odia language, updating the departmental website, and strengthening the grievance redressal mechanism.
The meeting was attended by the Engineer-in-Chief of the Department, Sagar Mahanti, along with other senior officers of the Water Resources Department, including Engineers-in-Chief and Chief Engineers holding various functional responsibilities.
