Bhubaneswar: The paddy procurement process for the KMS 2025-26 is advancing steadily across all 30 districts of Odisha, with the state achieving 80% of its total procurement target with more than 13 districts already surpassing 90% of their assigned procurement targets.
Of these, 7 districts namely Bargarh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Koraput, Nuapada, Sambalpur, and Subarnapur have recorded exceptional progress by achieving over 95% procurement with Subarnapur leading in the state by achieving 98% of its target with procurement of 3,76,556 quintals of Paddy. Boudh, Deogarh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jharsuguda, and Rayagada districts have successfully crossed the 90% procurement target, reinforcing the overall momentum of the procurement drive.
Districts like Angul, Bolangir, Boudh, Cuttack, Deogarh, Gajapati, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Sambalpur, and Subarnapur have recorded substantial increases in paddy procurement volumes compared to the previous Kharif season.
Additionally, several districts including Angul, Bargarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Cuttack, Deogarh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Rayagada, Sambalpur, and Subarnapur have witnessed a rise in the number of farmers participating in procurement, reflecting growing confidence in the procurement system.As on 24.02.2026, when compared to last year on the same, about 65,000 more farmers are able to sell their paddy in the Mandis.
The Government of Odisha has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding farmers’ interests through timely procurement, robust monitoring, and transparent payment mechanisms. By ensuring fair Minimum Support Price (MSP) and preventing distress sales, the procurement system aims to protect farmers from financial uncertainties and provide them with stable market support. As on date, the Government has extended financial assistance amounting to 17,329.2 Crore to 13,04,938 farmers with regards to MSP and Input Assistance.
