Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ campaign at an event in Dhar in Madhya Pradesh on September 17. Odisha initiated the Swasth Naari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan campaign throughout the state across 8,298 camp sites, attended by over one lakh participants.
The key feature of the campaign includes registration based on ABHA/Aadhaar/PMJAY IDs through a registration app and screening of beneficiaries for various diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer (oral, breast, cervical), anaemia, TB, mental health, sickle cell immunisation, antenatal check-ups, minor and major surgeries, and counselling on menstrual hygiene, nutrition/poshan, and blood donation, along with PMJAY card registration. Till today over 1000 specialist camps have been held across the state, and over 5000 general camps have been held. Over 25352 were screened for diabetes & hypertension, around 21600 ANC cases were screened, over 45000 children were immunised, 6718 counseling sessions on nutrition care were held, and over 46000 adolescent girls were counseled on menstrual hygiene.
This campaign reflects a large-scale, integrated public health outreach with a focus on women’s health as a foundation for family and societal well-being. The ‘Swasth Naari, Sashakta Parivar Abhiyaan’ in Odisha represents one of the largest integrated women’s health outreach efforts. It underscores the state’s commitment to universal health coverage, women’s empowerment, and family well-being, in line with the vision of Ayushman Bharat.
