Bhubaneswar: With inputs from State Disease surveillance system, about sporadic outbreak of diarrhoea in Digapahandi block, rapid action team of Ganjam district and mobile health team reached the villageUstapallilastday,and started field operations along with treatment of the patients. Medicines, ORS packets, halazone tablets were being distributed. Intensive awareness activities were under taken. People were been advised to drink the water after boiling and cooling it for their own safety. Water and stool samples were collected for tests.
Reviewing the situation in morning today, Secretary Health and Family Welfare Aswathy S. directed to intensify the awareness and prevention activities extensively in the surrounding area. With her instructions, another State level team has been deputed to the village.
The team comprising of Dr Surjit Garabadu, State Rapid Response Team and Dr Kollala Das, Consultant, National Programme on Climate change & human health and National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme weredeputed to the village. They would look into the ground situation, work at tandem with district teams while closely monitoring and supervising the diarrhoeal combat and control activities area.
The teams have got grip over the situation. People have been advised not to be panic, and adhere to the advisories given by the health officials.
