Bhubaneswar: The five-day induction training programme for Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) teaching Odia, organised by the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) under the School and Mass Education Department, Odisha, concluded today at IMAGE, Siripur, Bhubaneswar.
Around 100 Odia PGT teachers from Government Higher Secondary Schools and Government Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools across the State participated in the training programme. The programme focused on strengthening teachers’ subject knowledge, pedagogical skills, classroom practices and professional competencies.
The valedictory session was attended by Director, DHSE, Niyati Pattnaik; Additional Director, Binita Senapati; Joint Director, Sasmita Mali; and Deputy Director, Jitendra Nayak.
Addressing the participants, Niyati Pattnaik, Director, DHSE, emphasised the importance of continuous learning and professional development among teachers. Binita Senapati, Additional Director, DHSE, highlighted the importance of induction training in strengthening the professional skills, confidence and classroom preparedness of newly appointed PGTs.
Sasmita Mali, Joint Director, DHSE, delivered the welcome address while Jitendra Nayak, Deputy Director, DHSE, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed appreciation to all the resource persons, participating teachers and officials for their contribution to the successful completion of the programme.
During the five-day programme, the participating teachers were oriented on various aspects of effective teaching-learning practices, subject-specific pedagogy and classroom management. The training also provided a platform for interaction, knowledge-sharing and exchange of experiences among the teachers.
