Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Thursday hosted a formal banquet in honour of Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan at New Abhishek Hall in Lok Bhavan during his one-day visit to the State. First Lady of Odisha Smt. Jayashree Kambhampati was also present on the occasion.
The banquet was attended by First Lady Dr. Jayashree Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Fisheries & ARD and PR, Govt of India, Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Minister of State of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Prof. S P Singh Baghel, Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly Surama Padhy, Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi, Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Higher Education, Sports & Youth Services and Odia Language, Literature and Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Co-operation, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development, MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallik, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Development Commissioner Deoranjan Kumar Singh, DGP YB Khurania and other distinguished dignitaries.
The occasion provided an opportunity for constitutional authorities, senior leaders, and officials to interact in a cordial atmosphere during the Vice President’s visit to Odisha.
Following the banquet, Governor Dr. Kambhampati presented the Vice President and other dignitaries with handcrafted Tarakasi (silver filigree) mementoes depicting the sacred Rath of Mahaprabhu Jagannath. The mementoes represent Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, exquisite craftsmanship, and the timeless artistic tradition of Cuttack.
The event highlighted Odisha’s traditional hospitality and showcased the State’s unique cultural identity before the distinguished guests.
