Bhubaneswar: Minister, Cooperation, Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts, Pradeep Bal Samanta, the Cooperation Department, Government of Odisha, has asked Registrar, Cooperative Societies to issue certain instructions to all PACS and LAMPCS of the State to strengthen transparency in their functioning and active member participation. Accordingly, RCS has directed all societies to prominently display the names of their Board of Directors in a prominent location of the office premises, and to complete their Annual General Body Meetings (AGBs) for this financial year by 31st March 2026 with wide publicity and adequate member attendance. Further, it has been directed that the Cooperatives must hold AGBs every year with a minimum of 200 participants, as mandated by the Statute. These Profit-earning cooperatives societies with net profit above ₹1 crore will also be directed to distribute dividends to their members as per statutory provisions in the OCS Act and their respective Bye-Laws. The RCS has asked field officers to ensure close monitoring and timely compliance.
