Bhubaneswar: To ensure timely supply of LPG cylinder to the consumers, state government has directed the public oil companies operating in the state to ensure smooth and timely delivery of cooking gas. In a meeting with the representatives of the concerned companies, the Principal Secretary of Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare, Sanjay Kumar Singh said that there should not be any compromise on timely delivery of gas cylinders to the consumers. He also instructed to have sufficient stocks of LPG cylinders in the state ensuring the supply chains are stable and give priority to the interests of the consumers. On the issues of availability of 5 KG cylinders without safety guarantees in the market, he instructed the officials to act promptly on such complaints. He further directed officials to conduct regular checking of LPG cylinders on complaints of black marketing and unauthorised filling points. He also emphasised on uninterrupted supply chain addressing issues confronting the consumers, oil marketing companies and the dealers. He also instructed the officials to write to the companies to have multiple source of supply of gas cylinders to the state.
On this occasion, Indian Oil Chief General Manager Naro Tundup, HPCL Deputy General Manager M. N. Srinivas, BPCL state Head Raj kumar Singh, Chief Manager Pranali Meshram, IOCL Chief Manager KC Seth and additional Director Salauddin Khan were present.
