Bhubaneswar: A well organized workshop held on organic jaggery production and hygienic sugarcane juice at SAMBHAV, Odogaon in Ganjam district. More than forty sugarcane growers, jaggery manufacturer from Kotpad, Koraput and sugarcane juice vending machine manufacturer joined the workshop and shared their experience.
Organic cultivation and chemical free jaggery production process was discussed in details. Padmashree Sabarmatee discussed elaborately on the skill of Nayagarh farmers on jaggery processing and the women’s skill on making jaggery delicacies. Many sweet dishes made with organic jaggery was served to the paricipants to mark the occasion. It is aimed to supply organic jaggery from Nayagarh to Sri Mandir, Puri for Mahaprasad.
MD APICOL Shubhranshu Mishra, Additional Director Agriculture Litty Pattanayak, Scheme officers, Sugarcane scientists, Chief District Agriculture Officer, Nayagarh and other officials participated in discussion with farmers.
