Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Excise Department sustained its intensified enforcement drive on 25th September 2025, resulting in the detection of 241 cases across the State. A total of 127 persons were arrested, while 18 NDPS cases were registered during the operation. Major seizures included 10,857 bulk litres of illicitly distilled liquor, 90,070 bulk litres of fermented wash, 256 kilograms of ganja, 2 kilograms of bhanga, and 185 litres of tari. In addition, 21 vehicles were seized. The total value of seized articles amounted to ₹2.07 crore. The Excise Department reaffirmed its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards illicit liquor and narcotics and assured that such sustained enforcement activities will continue across Odisha to safeguard public health and revenue.
